Terms of Service

Article 1 — Purpose

These Terms of Service govern the rights, obligations, and responsibilities between The Monster Lab ("Company") and users ("User") in connection with the use of ANN Verify ("Service"), an AI-powered fact-checking service operated by the Company at annverify.ai.

Article 2 — Definitions

• "Service" means the AI-based fact-checking and misinformation verification service provided by the Company through the ANN Verify website (annverify.ai) and API.
• "User" means any individual or legal entity that agrees to these Terms and uses the Service.
• "Account" means the credentials registered by a User via email or Google sign-in to access the Service.
• "Verification Result" means an AI-generated analysis report produced by the ANN 7-Layer Fact Engine in response to content submitted by a User.

Article 3 — Effectiveness and Amendment of Terms

1. These Terms take effect upon being posted within the Service or otherwise communicated to Users.
2. The Company may amend these Terms within the limits permitted by applicable law. Users will be notified at least 7 days before the effective date of any change, or 30 days in advance for material changes.
3. Continued use of the Service after the effective date of an amendment constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

Article 4 — Services Provided

1. The Company provides the following services:
   • AI fact-checking and verification reports for news URLs, claims, images, and other content
   • Trust-score calculation via the AI 7-Layer Fact Engine
   • Real-time AI news feed and partner-verified news
   • Community discussion features
   • Personal verification history management
   • API access (paid plans)
2. The Service is intended to be available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, but may be temporarily suspended due to system maintenance, failures, or other unavoidable circumstances.
3. The Company will provide advance notice of any material changes to the Service.

Article 5 — Account Registration and Management

1. Users may register using Google OAuth or an email/password combination.
2. Users are responsible for maintaining the security of their account credentials. The Company is not liable for damages resulting from unauthorized access due to a User's failure to secure their account.
3. Users must not impersonate others or register with false information.
4. Registration is restricted to users aged 14 and above.

Article 6 — User Obligations

Users must not engage in any of the following activities.

• Using the Service with the intent to spread false information or deceive others
• Actions that interfere with stable service operation (e.g., DoS attacks, unauthorized crawling, abuse of automated scripts)
• Unauthorized collection or use of other users' personal data
• Infringement of the Company's intellectual property rights
• Any activity that violates applicable laws or public morality
• Using the API for purposes outside these Terms or reselling API access

Article 7 — Suspension and Restriction of Service

1. The Company may restrict or suspend a User's access without prior notice if the User violates Article 6.
2. The Company is not liable for any disadvantage suffered by a User as a result of such suspension.

Article 8 — Limitations of Verification Results and Disclaimer

1. Verification Results generated by ANN Verify are AI-produced reference materials and must not be used as a basis for legal, medical, financial, or any other professional decisions.
2. The Company does not guarantee the accuracy of Verification Results and is not liable for any damages arising from reliance on them.
3. The Company is not responsible for service interruptions caused by natural disasters, server failures, or failures of third-party services (Firebase, Cloudflare, AI APIs, etc.).

Article 9 — Intellectual Property

1. All intellectual property rights in the Service content (logos, designs, AI engine, software, etc.) vest in the Company.
2. Content posted by Users (verification requests, community posts, etc.) remains the intellectual property of the respective User; however, the Company may use such content for service-operation purposes.

Article 10 — Account Deletion

1. Users may delete their account at any time through the Profile menu within the Service.
2. Upon deletion, the account and all associated data are permanently removed and cannot be recovered.
3. Users who wish to re-register after deletion must complete a new sign-up via the Sign Up tab.

Article 11 — Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

1. These Terms and any disputes arising from the use of the Service shall be governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea.
2. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the court having jurisdiction over the Company's principal place of business.
